Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information CaterHub collects through caterhub.co.za, why we collect it, how we look after it, and what rights you have. It is written to meet the requirements of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect
When you send an enquiry: your name, business name, email address, telephone number, the subject you select and the message you write.
When you place an order: your name, billing and delivery address, email address, telephone number, and the details of what you ordered.
Automatically: your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit on this site.
We do not collect or store card numbers. Orders are paid by electronic funds transfer directly into our bank account, so no card details ever pass through this website.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and quote on what you asked about.
- To process, invoice, deliver and support your order.
- To keep accounting and tax records as required by South African law.
- To keep the website secure and working correctly.
We do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is necessary to do what you asked us to do:
- Suppliers and couriers — the delivery details needed to get your goods to you.
- Our hosting provider — Hostinger, which stores the website and its database.
- Our bank — to confirm that a payment has been received.
- Google — this site uses the Google Ads tag, which sets cookies to measure whether a visit led to an order. This is advertising measurement data, not your name or contact details.
- SARS, regulators or a court — where the law requires it.
Cookies
This site uses cookies to keep your shopping cart working between pages, to speed the site up, and for the Google Ads measurement described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the cart will not work properly without them.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months so that we can follow up and refer back to earlier conversations. Order and invoice records are kept for five years, which is the retention period South African tax law requires. After that we delete or anonymise the information.
How we protect it
The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to the website administration and to order records is limited to people who need it, and is password protected. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
- delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep;
- stop using your information for a particular purpose; and
- object to processing, where the law gives you that right.
Email info@caterhub.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time, and in any case within 30 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa, JD House, 27 Stiemens Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, 2001 — complaints.IR@justice.gov.za.
Children
This is a trade site selling commercial catering equipment. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date below.
