Gas fryers recover heat quickly and keep running through a power outage, which is why they remain the default in high-volume fast food and takeaway kitchens in South Africa. The floor-standing format gives a larger oil volume than a countertop unit, so temperature holds better when loading from frozen.

Requires a certified gas installation and extraction above. Gas connection and commissioning are quoted separately and must be carried out by a registered installer.
